Fall 2019 Football Breakfasts

We have all but three dates for the Fall 2019 Football Breakfasts "covered" as far as volunteers. The open dates for which we still need volunteers right now are September 7, September 14 and September 28, 2019.

A number of people from Benton Park West NA are interested in volunteering for one of those dates, and as soon as we hear back about a couple of requests to organizations, we will schedule the BPW volunteers and any other individuals who step forward to volunteer.

The organizations that have so far committed to send volunteer teams to assist with the breakfasts, on various dates, are DeSales Community Development, Tower Grove Heights Neighborhood Association, Tower Grove South Neighborhood Association, and the Fox Park Neighborhood Association.

We are thrilled with the wonderful support from the community for this year's Football Breakfasts.

Here's a link to our post with the game dates, times and locations:

Roosevelt 100th Anniversary event - Sunday, January 26, 2025

The Roosevelt Community Council and the Roosevelt HS Alumni Association will be holding a Centennial event on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Roosevelt High School, 3230 Hartford St., St. Louis MO  63118. Building tours at noon and a program at 1:00 pm. This is the actual 100th anniversary of the day the Roosevelt building first opened for students. An event is also being planned for the fall of 2025, to coincide with Homecoming, and we would welcome alumni of any year to join us to plan for this centennial year.

Change in Homecoming Game, Sept. 20, 2025 - vs. St. Pius X (Festus)

We received an update from the Athletic Director at Roosevelt re a change in the Sept. 20th Homecoming football game:  Due to tornado damage from the May 16th tornado, there has been a change in Roosevelt's Homecoming Game on September 20, 2025. The team will play St. Pius X High School (Festus) instead of Soldan High School.  The reason for this is that S oldan's students are moving to GatewaySTEM to attend classes this fall and their athletes will be participating with Gateway's students. Sumner's students will be attending classes at Miller Career Academy and participating in sports with them as well. This left us without an opponent for our celebration. I put out an all-points-bulletin to the area athletic director's for a "hail mary" in an effort to find an opponent to fill the opening in our schedule. I am happy to announce that St. Pius X (Festus) will be our opponent for our game on 9/20. Here's the updated game schedule:

First game of the season moved to Friday, August 29th, 2025 at 4:30pm
