Mission Statement
To build relationships between Roosevelt
High School students, staff, and the surrounding community and neighborhoods,
and work to ensure that Roosevelt students and all St. Louis City students have
equitable access to quality education and rigorous academic preparation.
Vision Statement
Students come to Roosevelt performing
at grade level in reading and mathematics.
Roosevelt High School has good
attendance and enrollment.
Students at Roosevelt are food secure.
Roosevelt graduates are
well-qualified to enter higher education, vocational education, military
service or employment.
Background:
The Roosevelt High School Community Council (RCC) was established in
March of 2007 as a community-based volunteer council to support the school and
bridge the divide that had developed over time between the neighborhoods
surrounding the school and the school. The council works to connect
the school to the broader resources of the community with the
purpose of building close relationships among students, staff and the community
through supportive activities, mutual engagement and education.
