RCC 2021 Meeting Dates – All Meetings at 4:30 pm, and will be virtual until further notice!!  The Roosevelt Community Council is continuing to meet during the pandemic, on the first Tuesday of each month at 4:30 pm. We met December 1, 2020, and will meet again on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. Our virtual meetings are lasting about an hour, and typically include a report from the Roosevelt principal or a school staff member. To participate, "Contact Us" and we will send you login info. 

Our November 3rd RCC meeting will be moved to November 10, 2020 at 4:30 pm, due to the election. "Contact us" for more information.

Here's a slide show of photos of the Roosevelt High School building taken in November 2019. It's a beautiful historic building.  Here's some information on the history of the building, gathered for a brochure we prepared for a building tour on March 12, 2020, just prior to the COVID-19 shut-down. From the Tower Grove East National Register of Historic Places application, approved April 30, 2013, page 76: 3220-30 Hartford (Contributing) Roosevelt High School was completed in 1922 and was designed by architect Rockwell Milligan. Constructed in the Jacobethan Style, the three-story variegated brick building features an "E" shaped plan and is ornamented with abundant limestone trim around window openings as well as extensive quoining. The monumental front entry projects from the plain of the building and features four, four-story towers capped with copper-clad zweibelturms. We meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 4:30 pm. During the school year (when the building is open) we meet at the school in Room 102, the Roosevelt history room. The RCC will not meet tomorrow, May 5, 2020; perhaps we will be able to meet next month, at least virtually (if so, the meeting will be on Tuesday, June 2 at 4:30 pm).  The district's 2020-2021 calendar was approved by the Board of Education last week. School will not be resuming early, but there is a virtual summer school session being planned for all high school students in July.  The district's website message  about the 20-21 calendar is pasted in below (link:    https://www.slps.org/Domain/ 13799  ).  2020-2021 School Year Calendar At its work session on April 28, 2020, the Board of Education approved a calendar for the 2020-2021 school year.
