December 4, 2018 Meeting, 4:30 pm; 2019 Meeting Dates

The RCC will meet on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 4:30 pm in Room 102 at the school. Here are our 2019 meeting dates (all meetings are at 4:30 pm; school-year meetings are in Room 102 at RHS, 3230 Hartford St., for the others, location TBA): January 8, 2019 (normal date is New Years Day, a holiday) February 5, 2019 March 5, 2019 April 2, 2019 May 7, 2019 June 4, 2019 July 2, 2019 August 6, 2019 September 3, 2019 October 1, 2019 November 5, 2019 December 3, 2019 We typically meet on the first Tuesday of the month, at 4:30 pm.

Roosevelt Soccer Team Success and RCC's next meeting is November 13

Stltoday.com (Post Dispatch on-line) has an article about the success of Roosevelt's boys soccer team this year:  Nshimiyimana pushes Roosevelt to new heights with leadership skills Also, the RCC meeting that would normally occur on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 (Election Day) is postponed to Tuesday, November 13, 2018. Meeting will be held at 4:30 pm as usual in Room 102 at RHS.

Oct. 24th Candidate forum and next RCC meeting is Nov. 13th (corrected!!)

There will be a candidate forum for candidates for the elected school board on 10-24-2018, 6:30 pm, at Metro High School (4015 McPherson). Presented by the League of Women Voters and the SLPS Foundation. The SLPS Foundation is the fiscal sponsor for the Roosevelt Community Council.  Also, the next meeting of the RCC will be on Tuesday, Nov. 13th, at 4:30 pm, rather than November 6th, our normal meeting date. The meeting will be at the school, 3230 Hartford St., in Room 102.    (Corrected date - the correct date is Tuesday, Nov. 13!!)

Homecoming Game Sat., Sept. 29th 1 pm, Tickets $5 cash - Updated

Homecoming is this Saturday, Sept. 29th, 1 pm game. Tickets are $5 cash at the gate at Compton & Wyoming. Check on Facebook for link to free tickets being offered by Ald. Christine Ingrassia (on the Tower Grove East FB group). There will be tailgating on the Compton-side parking lot starting at 11 am. (Note: Ticket price went up slightly, and the time of the game was shifted to 1 pm.) This is the banner we posted at the school on Wednesday, Sept. 26th. Update: Here is a photo from the September 15th football breakfast, sponsored by the RCC. We will also be providing breakfast for the team on Sept. 29th, before the homecoming game. Volunteers will be from the August Gate Church in TGE. The breakfasts are catered by Euylan Welch of Welch One Catering (in the white jacket toward the back of the photo).

RCC Meetings Sept. 4th, Oct. 2, Nov. 6, Dec. 4 + football game schedule

The RCC will meet on Tuesday, September 4th at 4:30 pm at the school in Room 102. Enter through the main front doors off Hartford St. - parking is on the lot on the Compton side of the building. If you want to mark your calendar in advance, we meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 4:30 pm:  Sept. 4, October 2, November 6, December 4th.  An effort is underway to organize tailgating for the Homecoming Football Game on Saturday, Sept. 29th. The game starts at 11 am. August 7th, 2018 meeting of the Roosevelt Community Council, 4:30p

The Roosevelt Community Council will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, August 7th, 2018, at 4:30 pm at the Messiah Community Center at 2801 Magnolia St. (Magnolia at California). Ms. Enna Dancy, the new principal at RHS, plans to join us, unless she has a last-minute prospective teacher interview that she must attend. We look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting.  ps - We expect to be back at Roosevelt HS, Room 102, for our September 4th meeting. 4:30 pm on the first Tuesday of each month. 

Fundraiser thank-yous and 6-5-2018 RCC meeting

The Roosevelt Community Council will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at 4:30 pm at the Five Star Senior Center, 2832 Arsenal St., in the board room. The building is east of Gravois in Benton Park West, on the south side of the street. There is parking on a lot across the street to the north.  Also, we want to thank everyone who supported the May 27, 2018 fundraiser:  A BIG THANK-YOU to RILEY’S PUB here in Tower Grove East, for hosting the May 27 th fundraiser for Roosevelt High School Football. RCC Meetings March 6th, April 3, May 1, 2018

Yes, the RCC will meet on March 6th, April 3rd, and May 1st, 2018 (first Tuesdays). Room 102 at Roosevelt High School, 3230 Hartford Street. Parking lot is on the east side of the building off Compton. Enter through the main front doors off Hartford (up the big front steps and through security). Any questions, "contact us"! Roosevelt Community Council meeting Tuesday, February 6th, 4:30 pm

The RCC meets tomorrow in Room 102 at 4:30 pm (first Tuesday) at the school. We hope to see everyone at the meeting!  The photo is from an SLPS Foundation "Ed Talk" at Roosevelt in January 2016. 

RCC 11th Anniversary this month

Corrected post --  The RCC marks its 11th Anniversary this month. We started meeting in early 2017, in January (to our best memory)!! Early morning sun coming up to the east of Roosevelt Over the years, the RCC has been a part of many projects at the school. Our current efforts are focussed on the 1960s Rough Rider Scholar Athlete Scholarship, the Roosevelt Afterschool Program, and the Football Breakfasts, which we sponsor during the football season. Our next meeting is Tuesday, January 9th, 2018 at 4:30 pm in Room 102 at Roosevelt (3230 Hartford Street, 63118). We normally meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 4:30 pm.
