Bill Gilbert and Don Owens have put together a fund-raising event for the 2013 Football Breakfasts, which will start in August. The event will be on Sunday, May 26th, 2013, time TBD but including afternoon, at Riley's Irish Pub at the corner of Arsenal and Arkansas, and barbequed hotdogs, etc., will be for sale. Will send more info shortly so that everyone can stop by and purchase some food!!

Also, Roosevelt Breakfast Blend Coffee is still for sale at LaMancha Coffeehouse, 2815 North 14th Street, whole bean or ground coffee, $12 per pound plus sales tax. This is a fund-raiser for the Football Breakfasts too - all profits from the coffee sales benefit the breakfasts. LaMancha is located near my office in Old North St. Louis, half a block from Crown Candy Kitchen.

Football breakfast donations can be made payable to the St. Louis Public Schools Foundation and sent to me for deposit.

Fundraiser at Riley's Irish Pub - Saturday, August 23rd, 1-5pm - UPDATE

Reminder that our once-a-year fundraiser for the Roosevelt Football Breakfasts is this Saturday, 1-5 pm at Riley's Irish Pub at the SE corner of Arsenal & Arkansas. It turns out that we have a number of very nice raffle items as well as brats, hotdogs, potato salad, fruit, and drinks for purchase. (We miss Bill Gilbert but many of the items have been donated with him in mind.) If you plan to come and help, we will be setting up starting at noon, and will be wrapping up, pulling raffle item winning tickets, and cleaning up starting at about 5 or so. Let us know if you can help if you haven't already let us know. The cell # for questions is 314-241-9994.

Currently, the RCC raises the funds for the breakfasts, hires the caterer to provide the food, and recruits the volunteers. We held a fundraiser in May at Riley's Irish Pub in Tower Grove East to raise funds for the breakfasts. The balance of the funds comes from donations. The caterer is Euylan Welch of WelchOne Catering. We al...

Usually, this involves feeding 40 to 50 team members and a few coaches for each breakfast. Sometimes, members of the cheerleading team are also present and invited to have breakfast as well.  This is an activity we have supported for a number of years, and it has also been supported by several nearby neighborhood associations and a number of businesses, as well as the public, at ...
