Homecoming Game Sat., Sept. 29th 1 pm, Tickets $5 cash - Updated

Homecoming is this Saturday, Sept. 29th, 1 pm game. Tickets are $5 cash at the gate at Compton & Wyoming. Check on Facebook for link to free tickets being offered by Ald. Christine Ingrassia (on the Tower Grove East FB group). There will be tailgating on the Compton-side parking lot starting at 11 am. (Note: Ticket price went up slightly, and the time of the game was shifted to 1 pm.)


This is the banner we posted at the school on Wednesday, Sept. 26th.

Update: Here is a photo from the September 15th football breakfast, sponsored by the RCC. We will also be providing breakfast for the team on Sept. 29th, before the homecoming game. Volunteers will be from the August Gate Church in TGE. The breakfasts are catered by Euylan Welch of Welch One Catering (in the white jacket toward the back of the photo).

First Football Breakfast of 2015

"Football Breakfasts" means providing breakfast for the Roosevelt High School football team before its Saturday home JV and Varsity games. About 85% of the students at Roosevelt are eligible for the school's free or reduced price meal program during the school week, but there are no such meals on Saturdays. The RCC began supporting the breakfasts about 8 years ago , when Mr. Terry Houston, then principal, asked us to provide volunteers for the breakfasts. The breakfasts were his idea: they are a way to both support the team and connect the community to the school. The volunteers help set up, help serve, and clean up after the breakfasts. Currently, the RCC raises the funds for the breakfasts, hires the caterer to provide the food, and recruits the volunteers. We held a fundraiser in May at Riley's Irish Pub in Tower Grove East to raise funds for the breakfasts. The balance of the funds comes from donations.
