RCC Meeting Reminder (12-11-2012 meeting) and Coffee Update/Correction

Just a reminder that the Roosevelt Community Council will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, December 11th, 2012 at 4:30 pm at the school at 3230 Hartford in Room 007 on the ground floor of the school. Parking is located on the lot on the Compton side of the building. Update on the Roosevelt Breakfast Blend coffee fundraiser - we have figured out that we received 1 pound bags of coffee in the first shipment instead of 12 ounce bags, so the price will be adjusted to $12.00 per bag plus sales tax.

Roosevelt Breakfast Blend Coffee Fundraiser Starts Now

We will have some bags of coffee available for purchase at the December 11th Roosevelt Community Council Meeting, 4:30 pm in Room 007 at the School. Whole bean or ground, 12 ounce packages. The price will be $10.97 for 1 package, $21.95 for 2, etc., including sales taxes. Checks can be made out to LaMancha Coffeehouse. Roosevelt Community Council meeting Tuesday, November 13, 4:30 pm location Room 007

The Roosevelt Community Council will meet on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 4:30 pm. The meeting will be held in the Afterschool Room, Room 007. We look forward to seeing everyone there. Room 007 is on the ground floor (lowest level) on the west side of the building. There is a parking lot on the east side of the building off Compton. We briefly considered moving the meeting from the second Tuesday to the third Tuesday of the month, but decided against it.

Roosevelt Community Council meeting today, 4:30 pm

Our regular second-Tuesday-of-the-month meeting is today (Tuesday, October 9th) at 4:30 pm at the school, probably in the Library annex room on the second floor. The final RHS Football Breakfast will be on Saturday, October 20th, which is also Homecoming. Volunteers will be needed and we are still seeking cash donations to fund the final breakfast. Roosevelt Community Council Meeting Sept. 11th, 4:30 pm

Our next Roosevelt Community Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at 4:30 pm at the school, 3230 Hartford St. We are hoping to meet in Room 007 on the ground floor, west side of the building, but we will let the folks at the security desk know for sure, so be sure and ask when you come into the building. Room 007 is the newly-designated room for the RHS Afterschool program.

First Football Breakfast is this Saturday, August 25th

We're ready for the first football breakfast this Saturday, August 25th. The game is at 1:30 pm at Roosevelt against Soldan (per Post Dispatch on-line). Admission to the games is usually $4 per person, enter the field at the corner of Compton & Wyoming (and Gravois). PS - We are still seeking monetary donations and volunteers for the breakfasts. See the July 31st  post for more info.

Meeting Tuesday, August 14th, 4:30 pm

The Roosevelt Community Council's next meeting will be on Tuesday, August 14th, 2012 at 4:30 pm, at Roosevelt High School, 3230 Hartford Street, 63118. A parking lot is located on the Compton side of the building. The meeting will be held in the Library annex on the 2nd floor of the building. Anyone interested in working to support Roosevelt is welcome to attend.

Seeking Funds and Volunteers for 2012 Football Breakfasts

The RCC is once again seeking funds and volunteers to provide breakfast to the RHS Football Team on Saturday mornings before the team's Saturday afternoon games. This tradition was started by former Principal Terry Houston as part of the school's turn-around effort, and is much appreciated by the team. The RHS Football Team has five Saturday afternoon games scheduled this year - first game is Saturday, August 25th. So far, we have commitments from three churches to provide volunteers for the 2012 breakfasts --- two more dates are open right now: August 25 th - New City Fellowship September 1 st September 15 th - Covenant Presbyterian Church September 22 nd  - South City Church October 20 th Ten to twelve volunteers are needed for each breakfast. Volunteers should expect to arrive at about 8:45 am and should be finished by 10:15 am or thereabouts.  The volunteers help the caterer bring the food and equipment into the school building, set up for the breakfast, hel

The Roosevelt Community Council meets monthly on the second Tuesday of the month at 4:30 pm. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, August 14th, 2012 at 4:30 pm. Check back to confirm the location, but we expect to meet at the school at 3230 Hartford, in the Library on the second floor.

About RHS and the RCC

The Roosevelt Community Council ("RCC") is a community-based organization formed to support Roosevelt High School in the City of St. Louis. The RCC has been meeting monthly at the school since the spring of 2007. The RCC is an all-volunteer organization which includes community members, school personnel, a representative of the Roosevelt Alumni Association, several local aldermen and a state representative. Roosevelt High School is a comprehensive (general admission) high school which is a part of the St. Louis Public Schools. The school draws students primarily from the South St. Louis City area, and has an enrollment of close to 1,000 students. The school is located at 3230 Hartford Street, St. Louis, Missouri 63118. The Roosevelt Community Council has coordinated a number of activities with RHS since the spring of 2007, including: raising funds for the school; serving breakfast to the RHS football teams before Saturday games, and organizing a
