RCC Meeting Tuesday, September 10, 2013 4:30 p & photos from August tour

The Roosevelt Community Council will meet at the school on Tuesday, September 10th, 2013, at 4:30 pm at the school. Here are some photos from touring the building on August 13, 2013. Photos courtesy of Jim Bennett, Roosevelt Alumni Association. Jim reports as follows about the renovations: Attached  a few pictures of renovated areas. The floors have new vinyl, walls new paint, stairs repaired and the front stone steps repaired with restored banisters, interior stairs and banisters have been repaired. Windows have been replaced. We did not see the library but it saw a major change fifteen years ago. Last renovation to the building was over ten million dollars. Original cost for the building in 1923 was about $250,000. Those were depression dollars when brick layers were paid one cent a brick.
